Anecdote is an Istanbul-based independent digital publishing and storytelling brand, born from a single question: “Is there a story behind this?”
Founded in 2023, Anecdote explores how the past continues to shape the present, reveals lesser-known sides of familiar figures, and uncovers extraordinary stories hidden within seemingly ordinary subjects — across history, culture, art, music, science, sport, society and world affairs, told through research, a clear script and rhythmic visual storytelling.
What we do
Through short-form videos, original shows, interviews, and editorial content, Anecdote creates a distinctive storytelling experience built around curiosity. Every video has a permanent story page on this site, with its sources and related stories.
Where we’re going
Our long-term vision is to bring publishing, creative production, brand collaborations, and story-driven physical products together under one brand: Anecdote Collab, Anecdote Studio and Anecdote Objects. Our order of priorities won’t change: story first, then format, then business.
