Under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), Anecdote Press (“Anecdote”), as data controller, processes your personal data as described below.

Data we process

• Account data: name, email address, a hash of your password (passwords are never stored in plain text).
• Preferences: language, weather city, newsletter preferences, saved stories.
• Comments, with their IP address, browser information and timestamp.
• Information you send through contact and partnership forms.
• Session and security logs.

Purposes and legal grounds

• Providing your membership (KVKK art. 5/2-c).
• Meeting hosting-provider obligations under Law No. 5651 (KVKK art. 5/2-ç).
• Your explicit consent for the newsletter and visit statistics (KVKK art. 5/1).
• Answering your requests and keeping the service secure (KVKK art. 5/2-f).

Transfers

Your data may be shared with the hosting and email providers we use to run the service, and with competent authorities where legally required.

Your rights

To exercise your rights under KVKK art. 11, write to hello@anecdote.press. You can download your data or delete your account under “My account → My data”.
